These Giant Tube Worms survive in harsh underwater environments where it's black as night constantly. They live without sunlight, instead using a process known as chemosynthesis, using the bacteria living inside it to break down materials from the "black smoker" underwater vents it makes it's home and turn it into food matter. By this process they absorb the created nutrients directly as they have no stomachs. The only colored part of their body is the bud at the top which is full of blood because this section of body are actually gills.
